Living with Dementia

For the most part, no one knows what it is like. While people will argue that, they do not understand or realize that we don't have a family of our ow or a job that we had to give up. There are care givers who have families from whom they get no support, I understand. Kind of like taking care of that person by yourself, but as for me and my sister, it is a lot different. I am extremely tired of people telling me hey have been there. No, they have not. This is what we have in common: There spouse, parent or someone close to them has Alzheimer. They have seen what it does to the patient. They miss their former parent as we do. BUT... They didn't live with them all their lives. They had moved out long before it happened. They were working and had to quit. They have a family I may not know what it is like having a family and a job wile trying to take care of your loved one, but being a full time caregiver is a lot different from watching them for a few hours
