Spiritual Fruit.

What exactly is Fruit? Many of us think of fruit as the delicious edibles we add to our diet like apples and oranges. But why do you suppose they are called fruits? They are called fruit because they PRODUCE from trees and grounds. Fruits have seeds in them. Merriam Webster defines fruit as ":1) a usually sweet food (such as a blueberry, orange, or apple) that grows on a tree or bush 2) the part of a plant that has the seeds in it (such as the pod of a pea, a nut, a grain, or a berry) 3) a result or reward that comes from some action or activity.Fruit

So when we think of the fruit of the spirit are we saying that the Spirit offers sweet food to eat or partake of? Maybe. You can't exactly eat love, joy, peace and patience can't we? And have you notice that it is the FRUIT of the spirit so all nine listed is not nine fruits. Love, joy, peace , patience  temperance, faithfulness, gentleness, self control and kindness is one fruit.
It's kind  of like a package deal!  When you buy a sewing kit at the store, it has things you need to sew: a thread, needle, thimble and maybe a pair of scissor. You can't just open the kit and buy the needle  and  say "Hey, I took one of the kits from the kit!" Yes, I know you can buy these things separately but that needle is part of the kit.   You can't sew without thread, you  need a thimble to keep from being poke  by the needle, etc. Just like Love is part of the fruit.

A believer  needs to be able to use ALL the fruit of the spirit to keep from acting in the flesh. (Read Galatians 5:19-24)

So we know that spiritual fruit is what the Spirit PRODUCES in us! He produces love joy and peace as well as the others that are listed

But fruit is also used in terms of what we say. Proverbs 18:20 "A man's stomach shall be satisfied by FRUIT
of his mouth; from the PRODUCE of his lips he shall be filled." What comes our lips? Words! The next verse even tells us the power our words  have. "v21 "In the tongue is the power of life and death." I believe we need to choose our words wisely. Not only does our words affect us , but others too.
Can I ask you something? Would you eat an apple if it had several bruised spots? Or how about moldy berries? If the answer is no, then you wouldn't want to speak destructive words. Destructive or negative words  are like the bad spots on the fruit and you know that its no fun to eat a bruised fruits.   In fact  you go to the store and you choose carefully the fruits you want to buy. You make sure the fruit are ripe and  fresh.
So the next time you are about to speak, choose your words carefully.

A personal example is me making my decrees. You say., "You don't make a  decrees! You're not a king!" I am unto Jesus. The word says we are priests  and king unto him. It also says we  reign through life with him and that we are seated in heaven;y places with him. (Scriptures to look up:  Rev 1:6,  Romans 5:17 and Ephesians 2:6)

I made a few decrees and I have seen the fruit of them. You may not believe me, but that's okay. So far I am satisfied in knowing that three of the decrees I have made have come to pass. I don't just do it once a day. I try to do it ten times a day but I get so busy that I end up saying it three or four times a day.  Don't expect it to happen over night. Sometimes  because of spiritual forces at work, the angels are fighting them. You know when we speak words of faith, we put God and his angels to work but when we speak words of doubts, we bind the hands of God and the angels can't work with doubt. Only the devil can and he would love to make your bad words come to pass. So regardless of what my physical eyes see, I will still speak good words.
By the way, I learn about making decrees from this book.
