Facebook Name Policy

A little over ten years ago, a social media network  was born. Finally a website where you can connect to friends and family. The network? Facebook. When I first heard of Facebook, my thought was it's a secular website and none of my friends would be there, but when I joined a chatroom, I met a woman who is the moderator of the chatroom and she  chatted about things unfamiliar to me. She intrigued me. What is Farmville or Farm Town? I had to find out so I joined as Ruthie Derby. Immediately I connected with my friends from Fresno Pacific University. Not only that I got invites for  use some applications and I was hooked! And the longer I was on Facebook, the more applications consumed my time. In 2011, my  life had changed. Tattoos.

Long ago in my younger days when I was in my rebellion, I wanted a tattoo of Garfield holding his Pookie bear on my left shoulders. I love Garfield and I used to have a stuffed Garfield. But unbeknownst to me, I became legalistic and found out that it was a sin to have Tattoos when I read that God commanded his people not to mark their bodies. I felt it was his abomination and i didn't want to displease him. Up until recently I continued to feel that way and I would try to make my point to friends who felt other wise. I have found that to be a lost cause. There are many commands God gave his people in the Pentateuch such as women shouldn't wear pants and yet women do. So if I point out what God said about marking our bodies, they will point something else out. I have decided to use scriptures in the New Testament to prove my point again until recently. Take a Stand!

"...and having done all to stand." Eph 6:13b The above verse is part of the scripture that shows us how to prepare for battle and in one now. It is a battle of good and evil. We are having to watch the forces of darkness invade our country in ways we have never seen. That is because God is exposing them before he overthrows them. Up until recently, I had no idea that places I like to shop at opposes our American values. Suddenly changes and we have to take a stand for what is right. One way to stand is boycott those places. Even if everyone around you is still shopping there or having coffee there, you don't have to join the crowd. Wouldn't you rather stand for what is right than to join the crowd? Even if your friends are not standing with you, God is right there with you. It won't shut them down, but you will have a clear conscience by doing so.
