Have a Little Patience



No one likes patience. We  all want results now and not later, but there were many people in the Bible who didn't get what God promised right away. Abraham waited 25 years until Isaac was born. David waited until Saul was no longer king. Joseph waited thirteen years before he became second to Pharaoh. But we need patience. Aren't we as believers suppose to be like our heavenly Father? Paul wrote that love is patience and since God is love then he is also patient. If he wasn't, then we are in trouble.

      People often mistaken availability for ability. Just when God called Moses to deliver HIs people, Moses had an excuse. Panic set in. He had killed one man and knowing that Pharaoh was out to kill him, he told God he couldn't confront Pharaoh because he had no ability tp speak to Pharaoh, but God didn't ask him if he was able, he called him and told him, he would give him the words to say. How many Christians today have the Moses Syndrome? God calls them to run for politics. If people would hear God call them and respond with, here. I am, Lord! Send me," I think our country would be better off. Our nation is in the state it is because no one rose to seats of government. It is God who gives us power.   In the last few months, people have looked up to the prophets to give them hope, but they made one mistake: They went by dates. None of the prophets gave dates. They speak just as God would speak in his word, in the Bible. Nothing is plain. In fact, God said through David that he would speak in riddles. Even Jesus spoke in parables and riddles. One time, his disciples told Jesus they "now understand" because he spoke plainly. People today put their hopes in dates and it reminded me of the two men who walked on the road to Emmaus. The Book of Galatians

I have given this some thought: Is God against prosperity preaching? I think when some Christians here preachers saying that God wants them to prosper, they react the same way the religious leaders of Jesus's times reacted. In Jesus's time, the pharisees were trying to put new wine and wineskins. If whatever Jesus taught didn't sound like what they grew up on, they would accuse Jesus of being a false teacher: Jesus let his disciples, pick grain on he Sabbath, Jesus didn't seem to insist his disciples wash their hands. and a bunch other things that didn't comply with the law.  People today also think that the reason why these preachers preach on prosperity is because they are greedy for gain.
